Business Development Manager

Melt Group Executive Search recruits for an international food and beverage company with a consolidated presence in various African markets. The organization operates across distribution, retail, pharmacy, hospitality, and industrial sectors.

• Define and implement the global commercial strategy aligned with growth and regional expansion objectives;
• Supervise commercial performance across business units including distribution, retail, pharmacy, hospitality, and industry;
• Identify new business opportunities in markets, customer segments, and product lines;
• Establish commercial objectives per business unit and ensure their achievement;
• Lead margin optimization and pricing policy in coordination with the procurement department;
• Conduct strategic negotiations with key suppliers and commercial partners;
• Implement commercial reporting systems and KPIs for data-driven decision-making;
• Analyze market trends and the competitive environment in Central Africa (CEMAC zone);
• Coordinate and align commercial teams across different units and geographies;
• Provide functional supervision to Sales Directors to ensure consistency in processes and commercial culture;
• Act as a key reference for the growth strategy within the management committee.

• Degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Marketing, or equivalent;
• Minimum 12-15 years of experience in high-level commercial positions, including at least 5 years as a Commercial Director or equivalent overseeing multiple business units;
• Experience in large-scale distribution, wholesale, FMCG, or retail with diversified and complex product portfolios;
• Mandatory professional experience in Africa, preferably in Sub-Saharan, West, or Central Africa (CEMAC zone);
• Nice to have: MBA or complementary training in commercial strategy.
