JetBrains develops software development tools, including the IntelliJ IDEA platform and the Kotlin programming language, focusing on creating high-quality environments for developers to write, navigate, and refactor code.

• Own the product vision for the Kotlin plugin to ensure fast, correct, and trustworthy IDE support;
• Use IntelliJ IDEA with the Kotlin plugin daily to dogfood features, catch regressions, and validate developer experience;
• Maintain and develop reference Kotlin projects for feature showcases, conference demos, and DX quality testing;
• Build prototypes and proofs-of-concept using AI coding agents to explore new capabilities;
• Own and adapt the plugin roadmap across short-term, mid-term, and long-term initiatives;
• Align plugin planning with Kotlin compiler releases, IntelliJ IDEA release trains, and Android Studio constraints;
• Make explicit trade-offs regarding cost, risk, and maintenance burden;
• Define problem statements, success criteria, and feature scope in collaboration with engineers;
• Represent core Kotlin personas and prioritize pain points such as analysis speed, refactoring reliability, and AI integration;
• Run a consistent pipeline of monthly user interviews;
• Coordinate with the Kotlin language team, Developer Advocates, framework partners, and Marketing;
• Create external visibility through blog posts, meetup talks, and feature previews at industry events.

• Professional software development experience in Java or Kotlin;
• 5+ Years of experience in technical product management or a comparable role in a complex technical domain;
• Hands-on approach to product management;
• Experience with AI coding tools and agents;
• Ability to define clear roadmaps with problem statements and success criteria;
• Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken);
• Readiness to represent the product externally at conferences and in community interactions;
• Passion for developer experience;
• Nice to have: Experience developing IntelliJ plugins or working with the IntelliJ Platform SDK, experience building evaluation pipelines or benchmarks, experience giving technical talks or publishing content for developer audiences.
