Platform engineer

Build the cloud-native platforms behind our clients’ most critical systems. At Schuberg Philis, we specialize in mission-critical IT. We work closely with our clients to ensure their most vital systems are secure, scalable and always available. Our engineers are T-shaped professionals: people with deep expertise and broad technical interests who take joint responsibility for the result. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you work on developing and managing several modern platforms. You work in a team building cloud-native platforms on Azure, private cloud environments and future data platforms.

• Design, build, manage and optimize Kubernetes platforms in production environments.
• Implement and improve cloud-native solutions within Azure, private cloud and hybrid environments.
• Manage the full lifecycle of Kubernetes clusters, including upgrades, scaling, security and platform improvements.
• Develop and maintain automation solutions using Infrastructure as Code and GitOps principles.
• Improve observability, monitoring, logging and alerting to ensure the reliability of mission-critical platforms.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on new platform initiatives, including data platforms and data collection solutions.
• Solve complex infrastructure and platform challenges within a broad technology landscape.
• Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of architecture, processes and engineering standards.

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
• Experience with container platforms and cloud-native technologies.
• Experience with one or more cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
• A strong background in Linux, infrastructure and open source technologies.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD and automation.
• You understand how mission-critical systems should be designed, managed and optimized.
• You are a pragmatic engineer who quickly learns new technologies and solves complex problems in a structured way.
• Good communication skills in Dutch.
• For this position, we are only looking for a Dutch-speaking colleague.
