Junior Data / Platform Engineer

The financial institution’s data distribution platform enables the governed exchange of data between providers and consumers across the organisation, ensuring data is technically checked, securely stored and delivered in a timely, useful format.

• Contribute to the development and improvement of data platforms;
• Work with data distribution and data transport solutions;
• Learn how data moves from providers to consumers within a large financial organisation;
• Work with cloud-based technologies and modern data engineering tools;
• Investigate technical issues and help develop creative solutions;
• Collaborate with engineers, data providers, data consumers and other stakeholders;
• Explore new technologies and tools that could improve the future data landscape;
• Develop technical skills in cloud, data platforms and programming;
• Work within the technical, security and regulatory requirements of a major financial institution.

• Background in technology, Computer Science, IT, Data or a related field is preferred;
• Some programming knowledge or experience;
• Genuine interest in learning more about technology and IT;
• Affinity with data, platforms and complex technical environments;
• Python knowledge;
• Proactive and curious mindset;
• Strong communication skills;
• Ability to collaborate with different teams;
• Confidence in asking questions and investigating how things can be improved;
• Candidates must already be living in the Netherlands; relocation from abroad is not possible;
• This role focuses on data platforms, data distribution, cloud technology and platform engineering, not AI engineering, data science or machine learning;
• Nice to have: knowledge of cloud concepts, particularly Microsoft Azure.
