Data & AI engineer in high performance computing

• In projects, you work primarily with Python (e.g. pandas, numpy), SQL, Jupyter, PySpark, and Databricks. You also work with Spark, data warehousing, data engineering, big data, MLOps, and LLMOps.
• You work with modern AI technologies such as Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, embedding models, and vector databases.
• You develop AI-powered solutions, particularly using NLP architectures and RAG systems.
• You work with the latest cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• You design and develop intelligent applications using modern ML- and LLM-based architectures.
• While implementing solutions, you work with modern frameworks and libraries such as LangChain and LlamaIndex, as well as cloud-native AI services, and bring the developed solutions into production using MLOps and LLMOps.
• You develop automated processes for extracting, transforming, and loading data (particularly on Databricks).
• You ensure data quality, security, and efficient data flow (ETL/ELT processes) in the project.
• Together with our data and AI architects, you develop innovative subject areas for our customers.
• You independently lead (part of) projects and take responsibility for adhering to effort estimates in accordance with (project) specifications.
• As part of pre-sales activities, you support the technical qualification and processing of tenders.
• You proactively identify opportunities for optimization and business opportunities within ongoing projects and contribute to subsequent sales activities.
• You analyze customer requirements, assess technical feasibility, and translate them into an offer. You also prepare effort estimates and calculation bases for offers.
• You work in agile teams (2–5 people, e.g. a data scientist, analyst, and project manager) on both long-term projects and shorter proof-of-concepts.
• You represent our company convincingly to external parties and work with a wide range of industries.
• You conduct customer workshops.
• You contribute to conception, design, implementation, testing, and consulting, and implement solution components or functional modules.
• You prepare the required documentation in accordance with applicable standards, using established methods, procedures, and regulations in your area of responsibility.

• Very good communication skills in German (at least C1) and English
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Several years of professional experience (at least 3 years in the field)
• Very good knowledge of Python and SQL
• Experience with Databricks, Spark, data warehousing, and modern data platforms
• Experience in AI, ML, GenAI, BI, or related fields
• Experience with modern AI tools, RAG architectures, vector databases, and embedding models
• Familiarity with LLM frameworks and libraries (e.g. LangChain, LlamaIndex)
• Experience developing and implementing cloud-based data and AI solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience building production MLOps processes and ideally LLMOps processes
• Teamwork skills, an entrepreneurial mindset, independence, and motivation round out your profile
• Enjoyment of working in a team and independently exploring new topics
