Backend Developer

Arival Bank is a US-licensed and regulated digital bank focused on serving global SMEs and individual clients by providing innovative, technology-driven banking solutions designed to empower modern businesses and individuals and support their growth worldwide.

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs;
• Build and support scalable microservices powering our banking platform;
• Develop new product features and improve existing functionality;
• Work on core business domains, including onboarding and verification, payments, notifications, reporting, risk, and analytics;
• Participate in designing service architecture and distributed systems;
• Collaborate closely with product managers, QA engineers, and other development teams;
• Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve system reliability and performance;
• Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and engineering best practices.

• 3+ Years of commercial experience with Ruby development;
• Strong knowledge of Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Sidekiq, and PostgreSQL;
• Experience building backend services with non-Rails Ruby frameworks, such as Sinatra or Grape, and designing service-oriented architecture;
• Experience building and maintaining REST APIs;
• Experience with microservices and event-driven architecture;
• Experience working with RabbitMQ or other message brokers;
• Understanding of security best practices for backend services;
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and backend architecture;
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging production issues;
• Experience with Docker;
• Upper Middle or Senior level;
• Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies;
• Fluent Russian language proficiency is required;
• English at B1 level or above, sufficient to read and understand technical documentation;
• Good communication skills and experience working in cross-functional engineering teams;
• Nice to have: Experience with Trailblazer, dry-rb, Redis, and MongoDB, experience in fintech, digital banking, or payment systems, experience with cloud platforms, with AWS being a plus, experience with Kubernetes, bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
