Backend Developer

BlueThrone transforms indie mobile products into global products. Its flagship analytics-driven music platform helps millions of people understand their listening habits through streaming data, recaps, badges, and social comparisons.

• Architect and evolve backend systems supporting millions of active users, from designing architecture to ensuring smooth operation at scale;
• Build clean, reliable, and intuitive APIs for frontend engineers;
• Work with complex data flows, caching, and messaging;
• Identify performance bottlenecks before they affect users;
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and data teams to ship and iterate quickly;
• Bring fresh ideas, challenge assumptions, and raise the bar for backend engineering.

• 5+ Years of experience building backend systems at real scale;
• Strong Node.js and TypeScript experience on the backend;
• Experience with async code, event loops, and backend architecture decisions;
• Experience designing scalable architectures and REST APIs;
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, and Elasticsearch;
• Hands-on experience with Redis and RabbitMQ;
• Confidence with Nginx, Kubernetes, and deployment pipelines;
• Takes initiative and thrives in fast-changing environments;
• Comfortable designing complex systems and optimizing individual queries;
• Curious, impact-oriented, and able to work across multiple areas;
• Nice to have: Go experience or interest in learning Go.
