Datavant is a data collaboration platform for healthcare that provides critical data solutions for providers, health plans, researchers, and life sciences companies. The organization focuses on making health data secure, accessible, and actionable to improve health outcomes.

• Conduct regular generative and evaluative research with internal operations users, including contextual inquiry, task analysis, and usability testing;
• Build a deep understanding of HealthSource workflows to identify where errors occur and what slows teams down;
• Synthesize qualitative and quantitative signals into clear problem definitions;
• Maintain and evolve a view of the user, their mental models, and the operational context;
• Own end-to-end design for HealthSource features from early concepts to spec-ready deliverables;
• Create detailed interaction designs, flows, and prototypes that handle edge cases and error states;
• Contribute to and enforce consistency within the design system;
• Design for efficiency at volume to reduce friction in high-frequency tasks;
• Balance short-term iterative improvements with long-term systemic redesign opportunities;
• Partner with product managers and engineering teams throughout the development cycle;
• Validate designs directly with operations managers and specialists;
• Communicate design rationale to technical and non-technical stakeholders;
• Contribute to product strategy and coordinate with the broader design team on shared patterns and principles.

• 5+ Years of UX design experience with a portfolio demonstrating strong craft across research, interaction design, and systems thinking;
• Demonstrated experience designing for internal tools, operations platforms, or workflow-heavy products;
• Fluency in the full research toolkit and ability to synthesize findings;
• Strong interaction design skills with focus on state, error handling, and accessibility patterns;
• Experience contributing to or working within a design system;
• Ability to operate with ambiguity and define problems independently;
• Strong written communication skills;
• Nice to have: Experience in healthcare, health IT, or highly regulated data environments, familiarity with medical records workflows, experience designing for high-frequency task workflows, comfort working with Figma, Figjam, and data tools like Sigma or Looker.
