Business Analyst

The company employs a global team of over 4,000 professionals, including developers, consultants, analysts, and product owners, to engineer technology that redefines industries.

• Act as a bridge between technical stakeholders and business users to translate business needs into scalable backend solutions;
• Apply systems thinking to help stakeholders understand backend system behaviors and integration points;
• Identify upstream and downstream service dependencies and assess the wider impact of backend changes;
• Collaborate across teams to evaluate the impact of API changes on other systems and services;
• Work with architects to understand TUI runway, schemas, and Business Object Models, assisting in documentation and sequencing;
• Analyze and interpret API documentation, endpoint definitions, and JSON structures;
• Define functional and non-functional requirements to ensure completeness for the delivery team;
• Define data mappings and service interactions between internal and external systems;
• Validate requirements related to authentication, security standards, and API consumption patterns;
• Define clear, testable, and traceable technical requirements;
• Inspect and test APIs using tools such as Postman, Swagger UI, or GraphQL playgrounds;
• Translate stakeholder needs into user stories with clear acceptance criteria aligned with the Definition of Ready;
• Lead refinement ceremonies and contribute to agile ceremonies in collaboration with Product Owners and developers;
• Promote iterative delivery, MVP thinking, and continuous feedback loops.

• Strong understanding of systems integration patterns, message flows, and dependency management in distributed architectures;
• Awareness of how backend changes affect front-end behavior, omnichannel features, and user experience;
• Proficiency with APIs, including consumption patterns, endpoint structure, and lifecycle management;
• Hands-on experience with RESTful OpenAPI Specification (Swagger) and GraphQL Specification;
• Familiarity with RFC 7807, JSON Patch, OAuth, and API security best practices like OWASP Top 10;
• Ability to define data mappings and transformations across systems;
• Competence in analyzing JSON payloads and testing endpoints using Postman or Swagger UI;
• Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to simplify complex technical concepts;
• Commercial awareness and customer-focused approach;
• Skilled in facilitating requirements workshops, gap analysis, process mapping, and capturing functional specifications;
• Experience creating user stories and acceptance criteria in an agile environment;
• Familiarity with modeling techniques such as sequence diagrams, BPMN, or UML;
• Advanced knowledge of JIRA and Confluence;
• Experience mentoring BA colleagues;
• Nice to have: previous experience with the travel business domain.
