Sales Engineer – Materials (Brabender Product Line) - Permanent contract

Anton Paar France is the French subsidiary of the Austrian Anton Paar Group, which has been specializing for more than 100 years in the development and manufacture of high-precision measurement and analytical instruments for laboratories, research and industry.

Our solutions enable the characterization of the physical and chemical properties of materials and support a wide range of industries, including materials, plastics, polymers, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, as well as food applications.

Following the acquisition of Brabender GmbH in 2023, Anton Paar has strengthened its expertise in material characterization and processing. Particularly well established in the plastics and polymers industry, the Brabender product range includes technologies dedicated to extrusion and compounding, as well as solutions for selected food applications.

As part of the continued development of this product range in France, we are looking for a Sales Engineer (m/f/d) on a permanent contract to develop our business and support our customers across the northern half of France.

Position: Field-based / Travelling position

Territory: Northern half of France

Location: Ideally based in the Paris / Île-de-France area or nearby

Reporting to: Team Leader – Material Characterization

As a Field Technical Sales Engineer, you will be the key technical and commercial contact for customers using the Brabender product range within your territory.

Combining technical expertise with a strong commercial mindset, you will identify customer needs, advise them throughout their projects and recommend the most suitable solutions for their applications, primarily in the plastics and polymers industry.

This is a field-based position involving regular customer visits and a high degree of autonomy in managing and developing your territory.

These responsibilities reflect the core scope of the original position, including customer needs analysis, technical demonstrations, first-level technical support, customer relationship development and collaboration with the German team.

You have a higher education degree in science or engineering, ideally in materials science, polymers, plastics engineering, materials chemistry or a related field.

You have at least 3 years of technical experience, ideally gained in an environment related to materials, plastics or polymers. The original job description requires at least three years of technical experience in material testing and/or quality control.

Knowledge of extrusion, compounding or polymer processing technologies would be a strong advantage.

Location & Travel :

This is a field-based position covering primarily the northern half of France.

Regular travel is required to visit customers and prospects, conduct demonstrations and support projects throughout the territory.

To ensure efficient coverage of the region and facilitate travel, the successful candidate should ideally be based in the Paris / Île-de-France area or nearby.

The position requires a high level of mobility and autonomy in organizing customer visits and travel schedules.

Occasional travel to other parts of France and abroad will also be required, particularly for training and meetings with the Brabender teams in Germany. The original job description requires mobility within France and occasional international travel for internal training.
