qa engineer (auto) for e-commerce

Sytac provides IT services and consulting across retail and software development. The company operates within a large Dutch e-commerce and retail environment, supporting a high-volume domain with microservices, databases, event streaming, and a customer-facing application.

• Grow backend test automation across services, covering APIs, relational databases, and Kafka event streams;
• Build the regression safety net for the Oracle carve-out, proving logic behaves identically before and after migration;
• Guard subscription data integrity across Oracle and PostgreSQL databases;
• Keep web E2E automation healthy, fast, and trustworthy using Playwright;
• Wire tests into CI/CD pipelines so failures surface early in development;
• Extend performance tests for backend services;
• Mature the existing AI-assisted testing setup;
• Shift testing left by collaborating with developers on test strategy and testable requirements from day one.

• 3+ Years of hands-on automated testing experience with a strong focus on backend and API automation;
• Solid JavaScript / TypeScript skills;
• Strong SQL skills and experience writing tests directly against relational databases;
• Deep experience with Playwright, REST Assured, or equivalent frameworks;
• Hands-on experience embedding automated tests into modern deployment pipelines;
• Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail;
• Independent and proactive working style;
• Strong English communication skills;
• Experience thriving in multidisciplinary engineering teams;
• NL residency required;
• Nice to have: Experience with Kotlin, Java, or another JVM language, familiarity with Apache Kafka or messaging architectures, experience incorporating AI-assisted workflows into testing setups, experience testing legacy database logic or complex Oracle systems, background in subscriptions, recurring billing, or high-scale e-commerce, Dutch language skills.
