Team Lead in algorithmic trading

The company is a proprietary algorithmic trading firm that manages the full trading cycle, develops trading software, and creates trading strategies and algorithms across a broad range of asset classes. It uses High- and Medium-Frequency Trading approaches.

• Own the people side of the team by hiring, onboarding, running performance reviews, and giving direct and useful feedback;
• Set priorities and keep the backlog honest;
• Take important initiatives from idea to production and stay close through the first weeks after launch;
• Pull requirements from traders, compliance, and other stakeholders and turn them into concrete technical direction;
• Make trade-offs between speed, quality, cost, and flexibility and stand behind them;
• Clear blockers yourself and work across areas when necessary to ship.

• 3+ Years leading engineering teams of four or more;
• Experience running performance cycles, managing scope, and carrying delivery;
• Backend engineering background;
• Ability to read architecture, follow technical discussions, and make the right calls with engineers;
• Judge success by impact on PnL, cost, or risk;
• Proactively find answers when requirements are vague or priorities shift;
• Nice to have: experience at a mid-size startup, experience owning a team budget including headcount, infrastructure, bonuses, and raises, background in Rust, C++, Java, or .NET, experience in trading, fintech, or high-performance systems, hands-on experience with LLMs or AI-assisted development tools;
• English B2 — Upper-Intermediate.
