Product Owner

Paymentology operates as a global issuer-processor providing technology and talent for banks and fintechs to launch and manage Mastercard and Visa cards across more than 60 countries. The company utilizes an advanced, multi-cloud platform to deliver real-time data, scalability, and flexible processing instances.

• Own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for Clearing & Settlement;
• Define product strategy aligned to customer needs, operational efficiency, scheme requirements, and business goals;
• Translate market, client, and scheme requirements into product requirements and delivery priorities;
• Manage product capabilities for clearing message ingestion and processing;
• Oversee presentments, reversals, adjustments, corrections, and exception handling workflows;
• Support multi-currency and multi-clearing scenarios;
• Ensure accurate scheme file processing and event generation;
• Improve automation, transparency, and controls across clearing workflows;
• Manage issuer settlement calculations and processing;
• Oversee settlement position management, exception handling, and financial controls;
• Define and enhance reconciliation across clearing, settlement, and ledger flows;
• Lead product requirements related to Visa Base II, Mastercard IPM, and scheme reporting;
• Monitor scheme mandates, changes, and release impacts;
• Drive impact analysis and manage product changes required by scheme-driven updates and network integrations;
• Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, Operations, Finance, Compliance, and Client Delivery teams;
• Write detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria;
• Support solution design, testing, implementation, and release planning;
• Act as product SME for clearing and settlement internally and externally;
• Drive the delivery of new payment scheme integrations and related network capabilities.

• Expert knowledge of card clearing and settlement processes and frameworks (Visa, Mastercard);
• Understanding of settlement reporting, reconciliation, interchange, assessments, and scheme fees;
• Ability to translate complex payment and scheme requirements into product and delivery plans;
• Competence in payment processing fundamentals: authorization, clearing, settlement, reconciliation;
• Ability to interpret complex technical specifications into concise requirements and testable outcomes;
• Project and program management skills, including dependency and risk management;
• Technical fluency and experience collaborating with engineers on APIs and system behavior;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field;
• Nice to have: 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Payments, Issuer Processing, or financial processing, experience with SQL/data analysis, technical or payments-focused background.
