Product Owner

Join Our Team as a Junior Product Owner at Hawk-Eye Innovations

Hi, I’m Alison Marr, Product Lead for the Tracking and Auto Officiating Value Stream at Hawk-Eye Innovations. Are you interested in working with the latest technologies in a fast-paced environment, with exciting career opportunities in a growing business?

At Hawk-Eye, we build technology that powers some of the most exciting and critical moments in sport, from instant replays and broadcast augmentation to officiating systems trusted by leagues, federations, broadcasters, and millions of fans worldwide.

Our Value Stream delivers the tracking and automatic officiating services that have revolutionised global sport. From our world-renowned ball and object tracking systems to SkeleTRACK, our real-time skeletal tracking services, we turn live athletic movement into precise, high-stakes decisions and elite data insights.

We are looking for a Junior Product Owner to help drive our tracking and automated officiating products forward. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical execution and operational excellence. You will keep the technical depth and operational focus of an engineer while taking structured ownership of backlog definition, prioritisation, and delivery outcomes. Working across complex, real-time software-hardware integrated systems in live stadium and broadcast environments, you will directly impact how our world-leading tracking platforms perform on the global stage.

• Product Definition & Backlog Ownership: Act as the voice of users, operators, and the business. Translate needs into epics, features, and user stories for small-to-medium changes, and maintain a prioritised backlog using data, value, and risk.
• Quality & Testing Coordination: Define and coordinate QC activities (functional, integration, regression, and UAT). Lead defect detection, triage, validation, and root cause investigations to ensure our tracking systems remain incredibly accurate and reliable.
• Cross-Functional Delivery: Work day-to-day with Engineering, QA, TechOps, and UX teams to align on scope. Participate fully in Agile ceremonies, monitor support channels, and coordinate third-line support within your scope.
• Deployment & Early-Life Support: Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, and training materials. Support pilots, staged roll-outs, and early-life support until tracking products are smoothly embedded in live, real-time match operations.
• Growth Toward Level 4: Build your capabilities across the full product lifecycle. With coaching from senior POs and Product Managers, you will begin shaping short-range roadmaps, defining OKRs, and handling increasing ambiguity.

• 1–3 years of experience in a product-related role (e.g., Associate Product Owner, Business Analyst, QA, Operator, or similar) working on technically complex products.
• Strong technical grounding with the ability to communicate effectively with engineers, QA, and operators across software-hardware integrated systems.
• Proven experience coordinating QC/regression testing and managing defect resolution.
• Data & Cloud Comfort: Experience working with cloud-based and data-oriented products, with the ability to interpret basic product analytics and operational telemetry.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset to plan your own work, handle ambiguity, and escalate risks appropriately.
• Experience supporting product launches and creating documentation or tutorial content.
• Exposure to stakeholder engagement, prioritisation frameworks, and roadmap contribution.
• Experience working with products that combine software, high-performance cameras, and hardware in high-pressure, live broadcast, or real-time sports environments.

• Annual leave per local labour law
• Hybrid working (2 days/week in office)
• Sony Group perks – discounted tickets and events
• Cafeteria options (SZÉP Card, nursery/kindergarten support, MOL Bubi Pass)
• Private medical, life & accident insurance, dental discounts
• Seniority awards, Employee Assistance Program
• “All You Can Move” Pass option
