Product manager in accounting software

Buena buys property management companies and develops the software they use every day. This puts us directly in touch with the people, processes, and problems we build for. Accounting is a central part of this work. Whether it is rent distributions, sub-accounts, or annual statements, processes need to be clear, results accurate, and automation reliable even when a case deviates from the standard. We are looking for someone who deeply understands accounting and can translate that knowledge into better software.

• Understand the problems deeply: You get to know the accounting processes of our property management companies, including edge cases, professional requirements, and existing limitations.
• Identify the right improvements: You distinguish between missing features, unclear processes, technical errors, and usability issues.
• Shape the product direction: You develop a clear vision of how accounting should work at Buena and prioritize improvements by benefit, professional necessity, and impact.
• Make solutions concrete: You translate complex requirements into clear concepts, specifications, and user flows, which you further develop with Engineering and Design.
• Ensure accuracy: You review solutions, consider edge cases, and assess whether new features meet the underlying requirements.
• Stay involved through adoption: You support improvements through launch and check whether they solve the original problem in everyday use.

• Deep understanding of accounting: You can explain processes and recognize when something is missing or incorrect from an accounting perspective. Experience in real estate or WEG accounting is particularly valuable.
• Product thinking: You question existing ways of working, distinguish genuine requirements from habits, and develop ideas for better processes.
• Analytical strength: You break down complex problems, compare possible solutions, and identify which next step will bring the greatest benefit.
• Technical curiosity: You want to understand how our software works and can discuss requirements and trade-offs with engineers.
• Clear communication and ownership: You bring together professional expertise, the user perspective, and product development, and stay with a solution until it works in practice.
• Experience developing or improving accounting software is particularly relevant. Your previous job title is secondary: what matters is that you understand accounting and can derive useful software solutions from it.
