product manager for operational data platforms

HelloFresh’s Foundations Alliance accelerates the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and highly available digital products by providing services and platforms that improve internal builders’ productivity and application and data reliability.

• Own the product vision and roadmap for the Operational Data Platform, covering low-latency data creation, transport, storage, and availability for downstream analytics;
• Drive the squad’s cost-efficiency roadmap and own cost savings as a core KPI;
• Own the reliability of critical-path streaming and core database systems, set uptime targets, and incorporate incident learnings into the roadmap;
• Champion data-contract and schema standards at the point of data creation and work with data-producing engineering teams to close adoption gaps;
• Guide tooling decisions and consolidate around the right tools;
• Own the handover contract with the Analytical Data Platform to ensure trustworthy data ready for governance and certification;
• Act as the primary interface between the Operational Data Platform and data producers, translating their needs into roadmap priorities;
• Define, track, and report squad KPIs against Foundations’ quarterly goals.

• Experience as a Product Manager with a solid grounding in data infrastructure, data engineering, or backend platforms;
• Comfortable with streaming, messaging, and database concepts;
• Working familiarity with event streaming and relational/NoSQL database technologies;
• Experience owning the roadmap and KPIs for a single team in a well-understood problem space;
• Experience defining and driving metrics such as cost, reliability, or data quality;
• Use data to inform prioritization and roadmap decisions;
• Build trust and alignment with engineering leads and key stakeholders;
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally;
• Drive day-to-day delivery with minimal guidance once direction is set;
• Navigate cost, reliability, and technical debt trade-offs in a live production environment;
• Nice to have: Experience with a growing quantity/quality toolkit and openness to guidance from senior peers.
