TransitionZero is a climate tech non-profit that builds open-source software to accelerate the transition to clean energy. The organization develops tools that make electricity system modelling more transparent and accessible for governments, financiers, and grid operators worldwide. Its flagship product, Scenario Builder, allows users to build, analyze, and share energy system models without requiring coding expertise.

• Write product requirements documents (PRDs) with clear acceptance criteria;
• Own the definition of done for every feature;
• Conduct exploratory and user research to validate product direction;
• Manage the product backlog and sequence work for sprint planning;
• Run agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives;
• Lead product marketing efforts by identifying release headlines and drafting content;
• Produce and maintain user-facing product documentation;
• Coordinate fortnightly product and marketing syncs;
• Act as a bridge between product leadership, engineering, design, and marketing;
• Maintain a log of user-requested features and notify users upon release.

• Demonstrable experience as a product manager working closely with engineers in a small team;
• Strong experience with agile and scrum methodologies, including story pointing and backlog management;
• Excellent written communication skills for creating clear and actionable PRDs and documentation;
• Experience working on user-facing products with a front-end;
• Capability to conduct discovery work and user research;
• Nice to have: Understanding of energy systems and modelling, familiarity with data visualisation of complex data, product marketing awareness, experience in a non-profit or early-stage startup environment.
