financial analyst in logistics network planning

Amazon is a technology company that improves and reimagines the logistics industry. Its Network Planning Finance team provides financial perspectives, insights, and trusted business advice to support decisions about logistics network design, capacity, investment, and efficiency.

• Identify and drive cost-out opportunities across multiple network segments by connecting operational performance metrics to financial outcomes and defining analytical frameworks;
• Navigate complex and ambiguous CapEx and network cost structures with limited or incomplete data, size opportunities, quantify trade-offs, and recommend actions to leadership;
• Lead root cause analysis on systemic issues across multiple sites or topology decisions and design scalable measurement frameworks to improve network efficiency;
• Influence senior Network Planning leaders on investment, capacity placement, and network cost strategy;
• Own relationships with data source providers and technology teams, drive automation roadmaps, define data quality standards, and ensure decision-grade data is available for network design cycles;
• Identify and champion process improvements across the finance organization, codify best practices, and raise the analytical standard for peers and junior analysts;
• Build financial business cases for new site launches;
• Model cost and service impacts of proposed topology changes;
• Present capacity investment trade-offs to Senior Leadership;
• Translate complex planning decisions into clear financial recommendations;
• Quantify the cost impact of adding new nodes to the network;
• Automate reporting pipelines using AI tools.

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or experience in relevant finance roles;
• Fluent spoken, written, and read English;
• Experience in forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and interpreting financial results;
• Experience using financial models, KPIs, and data analysis to inform business decisions with proven business impact;
• Experience in commercial finance business partnering or FP&A;
• Nice to have: Master's degree, professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent, knowledge of Cognos and Redshift, advanced Excel functions including pivot tables, macros, VBA, and Power Query, experience with Power BI, Python, SQL, and Tableau.
