Security engineer

We are looking for a driven Security Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will share responsibility for developing, implementing and maintaining bespoke solutions that are robust, secure and scalable. Together with our engineering team, you will work on various assignments that enable our clients to make secure progress with modern technologies and concepts.

• Advise clients on technical designs that suit their situation and environment.
• Design and implement bespoke solutions that are robust, secure and scalable.
• Alongside engineering activities, you will often be asked to contribute as an expert across various other disciplines, such as assessing built infrastructure or contributing to technical proposals.
• Keep up to date with the latest technologies and solutions and share this knowledge internally or at conferences.
• Depending on your experience, coach and train your colleagues, helping them grow and learn.
• Build a secure, distributed sensor network end to end, enabling our clients to gain valuable insights into their networks and systems.
• Design and implement a fully managed cloud platform using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Develop dedicated interfaces between security events and security monitoring solutions such as Splunk, ELK, Kafka and Hadoop.

• Between 2 and 6 years of experience in a similar role within cybersecurity.
• Experience in IT automation technologies (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Salt, Windows DSC, etc.).
• Experience in virtual cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS, Azure, Rackspace, etc.).
• Experience in virtualisation technologies (e.g. VMware, KVM, Xen, Hyper-V, etc.).
• Experience in Linux container technologies (e.g. Docker, LXC/LXD, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Experience with operating systems (Linux and Windows).
• Experience in identity and access management (e.g. Active Directory, OpenLDAP, FreeIPA, etc.).
• Experience with SIEM, log management, security analytics, VPN, ELK, Apache big data.
• Experience with network technologies.
• Experience with IDS and IPS.
• Strong communication skills, in both Dutch and English.
• Experience as a team player with a professional attitude who can work independently.
• Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
