platform engineer for cloud platforms

The project is transforming team-operated infrastructure into a platform with clear self-service capabilities, focused on reliability, security, observability, resilience, and maintainable engineering practices for business-critical services.

• Design and evolve reliable cloud platform capabilities for engineering teams;
• Improve AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, monitoring, and operational patterns;
• Partner with engineers to understand their needs and make safe, maintainable choices;
• Own work from problem definition through delivery and learning;
• Strengthen observability, resilience, security, and incident readiness;
• Build reusable tooling, guardrails, and self-service foundations;
• Participate in incident response, communication, post-incident reviews, and corrective actions;
• Participate in an on-call rota when required.

• Strong hands-on AWS platform engineering experience in production environments;
• Practical experience with Kubernetes/EKS, Docker, Terraform, and Helm;
• Strong CI/CD experience, particularly with GitHub Actions, and reusable-pipeline thinking;
• Experience with logging and monitoring, networking and protocols, scripting, secrets management, and service discovery;
• Exposure to both AWS and Kubernetes, with sound coding experience;
• Evidence of designing secure, reliable, and maintainable platform solutions;
• Ability to deliver autonomously and collaborate constructively with application engineers;
• Experience supporting business-critical services through an on-call rota;
• Experience with at least one programming or scripting language;
• Nice to have: experience with Honeycomb, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or Splunk, including SLO-led practices; pragmatic use of AI-assisted engineering tools to improve quality and productivity.

• The working schedule is aligned with UK business hours, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM UK time;
• Participation in an on-call rota may be required;
• This position includes a sign-in bonus.
