The Enterprise Data Services and Enablement team builds and maintains data foundation layers for ingestion and domain teams, enabling reliable infrastructure, governance, observability, and self-service platform operations.

• Design, provision, and evolve data storage and governance infrastructure for the Ingestion Layer and Domain Layer as code across environments;
• Own operational administration of Unity Catalog, including metastore configuration, workspace binding, and access policies;
• Build platform-wide monitoring, observability, and alerting for job health, freshness, access anomalies, and capacity;
• Automate environment provisioning and configuration for source connections and domain workspaces;
• Troubleshoot data infrastructure-level incidents;
• Partner with ingestion pipeline and domain model engineers to align platform infrastructure with their needs;
• Act as a technical reference point for infrastructure architecture, contribute to design discussions, raise engineering standards, and mentor engineers;
• Drive engineering excellence through CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automated testing, and DevOps practices;
• Provision new source connections and domain workspaces predictably through code without manual click-ops;
• Reduce infrastructure-level incidents and improve recovery times;
• Maintain clean Unity Catalog access and permissions without drift or orphaned grants;
• Enable ingestion and domain layer engineers to self-serve infrastructure changes through CI/CD;
• Make platform cost and capacity trends visible and improve their direction;
• Maintain a reliable and observable infrastructure foundation for ingestion and domain layer teams;
• Collaborate with a squad from the Clients Data & Analytics and Foundation Platform organisations to validate, design, productionize, and maintain data foundation layers;
• Work alongside architects, domain leads, and teams building on the Accelerator layer across Europe and Asia.

• 5+ Years of experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineer supporting cloud data platforms;
• Deep hands-on knowledge and experience administering Unity Catalog;
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform or comparable Infrastructure as Code tooling at platform scale;
• Experience with Azure cloud services;
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including clean code, testability, modularity, and version control;
• Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform tooling;
• Experience implementing monitoring, observability, and alerting for distributed or cloud systems;
• Proficiency in Python and/or Shell scripting for automation;
• Ability to contribute to architectural discussions and influence technical direction;
• Experience mentoring peers or leading technical work within a team;
• Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders;
• Fluent English, written and spoken;
• Nice to have: Apache Kafka, OpenMetadata or comparable data catalogs, data contracts, Change Data Capture (CDC), SAP integrations, Kubernetes or container orchestration, cloud cost optimisation / FinOps for data platforms.

• Contract role for 6 months;
