• Run and evolve the Kubernetes landscape across Amazon EKS and on-premise clusters managed with Rancher;
• Automate deployment and scaling and guide engineering teams in using the automation effectively;
• Build observability with metrics, dashboards, and alerting;
• Investigate infrastructure-level incidents and implement lasting fixes;
• Design abstractions that enable Backend and Data Engineers to ship without opening tickets;
• Evolve the self-hosted infrastructure and private cloud;
• Help decide what should be automated and what should be rebuilt.

• Operated Kubernetes in production for years, including upgrades, capacity planning, and cluster-level debugging;
• Built or operated Kubernetes clusters without a managed cloud service, using tools such as kubeadm, k3s, or OpenShift;
• Use observability, GitOps, and deployment automation as standard practices;
• Comfortable working on Linux hosts and automating recurring manual work;
• Understand relational and key-value databases and networking well enough to investigate production issues;
• Comfortable working in a small team with changing priorities and without detailed specifications;
• Evaluate design alternatives and clearly explain trade-offs;
• Nice to have: Go beyond simple scripting, Python beyond simple scripting, Rancher, production operation of self-hosted databases including replication and recovery, deep networking knowledge including TLS and TCP/UDP internals.
