Moderna is a biotechnology company that develops mRNA-based medicines and vaccines to transform the treatment of various diseases. The organization focuses on building a leading mRNA technology platform and infrastructure to reimagine how medicines are created and delivered.

• Design, implement, and scale robust data services on AWS using Glue, Redshift, Iceberg, Lambda, EMR, Step Functions, and Apache Airflow;
• Build and enhance platform capabilities including self-service data ingestion APIs, metadata governance frameworks, and secure data sharing patterns;
• Develop infrastructure-as-code modules and support CI/CD pipelines;
• Contribute to architectural design discussions and technical decision-making;
• Partner with Product Managers to translate business priorities into scalable technical specifications;
• Collaborate with data scientists and domain engineers to enable governed, self-service data management;
• Perform code reviews, uphold engineering best practices, and contribute to documentation and knowledge-sharing;
• Drive platform maturity by improving scalability, reliability, and usability of data services.

• 5–8 Years of experience in software or data engineering, preferably in cloud environments;
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and tools like dbt or Apache Spark;
• Experience with AWS data stack including Glue Catalog, IAM, and S3;
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, and IaC tools like Pulumi or Terraform;
• Ability to develop and manage ETL/ELT workflows for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data;
• Nice to have: Data Lakehouse and data mesh architectures, Databricks, Snowflake, data privacy and access control implementations (OAuth, RBAC), AI/ML integration or MLOps workflows, AWS certifications (Data Analytics or Solutions Architect).
