Fliff provides a social sports gaming platform that offers free-to-play experiences for sports fans. The company focuses on gamified sports engagement, featuring leaderboard competitions, achievement badges, and loyalty rewards, while also incorporating sweepstakes promotions as an alternative to real-money gaming.

• Take full ownership of backend features and improvements, from design through implementation, deployment, and production support;
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services using Python and Django;
• Build and maintain integrations with external systems, including KYC, geolocation, and payment partners, and other third-party services;
• Work closely with product and engineering teams to scope and deliver new integrations;
• Implement observability across integration flows, including monitoring, logging, and alerting;
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure system reliability, prevent regressions, and improve overall test coverage and testing practices;
• Support production issues and participate in on-call rotations.

• 5+ Years of development experience with Python as the primary language;
• Strong experience in API and system integrations;
• Proven experience integrating third-party APIs with deep understanding of webhooks, callbacks, idempotency, and failure handling;
• Experience with observability tools to monitor and troubleshoot production integrations;
• Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and concurrency;
• Experience in architecture design of highly loaded and scalable solutions;
• Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle;
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations;
• Nice to have: Experience in early-stage startups and fast-paced engineering environments, experience in writing automated tests and defining test automation strategies, experience with Datadog, CloudWatch, Grafana, experience in sports/betting industries.
