• Evaluate AI use cases from a technical perspective, including feasibility, effort, architecture, risks, data requirements, and operational maturity;
• Translate business needs into robust technical target architectures with specialist departments;
• Develop, test, and operate AI solutions based on approved platforms, architectures, and Enterprise AI Guardrails;
• Build and integrate AI components such as LLM-based applications, RAG pipelines, agents, tools, skills, APIs, and MCP integrations;
• Develop and maintain frontend, backend, and integration components according to each use case;
• Ensure secure, stable, and maintainable solutions while considering cybersecurity, data protection, compliance, permissions, and operating models;
• Support the rollout, monitoring, further development, and scaling of productive AI solutions;
• Document solutions, architectural decisions, and operational knowledge to preserve expertise within the company;
• Collaborate with AI Lab, Digital Services, IT, Cyber Security, Data Governance, AI Experts, and business stakeholders;
• Evaluate new models, frameworks, and technologies and derive pragmatic applications for Drees & Sommer;
• Develop local AI prototypes into secure, reusable, and scalable enterprise solutions.

• Completed degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, or a comparable technical qualification;
• Relevant professional experience in software engineering, AI engineering, data science, machine learning engineering, or a comparable technical field;
• Practical experience with modern AI applications, including LLM integration, RAG systems, agent architectures, context engineering, tool use, prompting, evaluation, or fine-tuning;
• Confident with relevant technologies such as Python, TypeScript, React, FastAPI, Docker, APIs, cloud platforms, and CI/CD;
• End-to-end understanding of AI applications, including data sources, retrieval, orchestration, model integration, permissions, evaluation, monitoring, and operations;
• Understanding of security, data protection, compliance, and governance in enterprise environments;
• Strong communication skills and a structured, reliable, hands-on working style;
• Ability and willingness to collaborate with business stakeholders, AI experts, data teams, and IT teams;
• Fluent English and good German.
