Volkswagen Group Digital Solutions develops technology for the mobility industry, including vehicle software and operations, mobile online services, IT security, fleet management, sales and after-sales, purchasing and logistics, and product portfolio management. The team addresses complex systems and programming challenges across the digital value chain.

• Design, build and maintain data pipeline architecture on AWS for ingestion, transformation and curation;
• Process and decode large-scale vehicle datasets, transforming raw signals and telemetry into analytics-ready data;
• Assemble large, complex datasets that meet business and analytics requirements;
• Implement ETL/ELT infrastructure using Python, PySpark, SQL and AWS big data services;
• Build analytics tooling on top of data pipelines to deliver actionable business insights;
• Operate at scale and prepare data for use in close alignment with business stakeholders;
• Make architecture decisions;
• Collaborate with international stakeholders, including German teams;
• Contribute to a mature data platform.

• 5+ Years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or Software Engineer in big-data environments;
• Strong production-grade Python experience;
• Real-world PySpark/Spark experience with distributed processing;
• Hands-on experience with AWS core services: S3, Glue, Athena, Lambda and IAM;
• Comfortable with complex SQL queries, optimization and data modeling;
• Proven experience building and operating ETL pipelines;
• Knowledge of Data Lake, Data Warehouse and RDS architectures;
• Fluent written and spoken English;
• Nice to have: Experience in the automotive sector or with vehicle/telemetry data, IaC with AWS CDK or Terraform, CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, SQS, SNS, EventBridge or Step Functions, Apache Iceberg or Hive, willingness to learn Iceberg, experience with TB-scale datasets.
