• Design and build data-driven applications to support a live frontend;
• Work as part of full-stack teams alongside backend and frontend engineers;
• Apply software development best practices to data engineering, including test coverage, design patterns, and CI/CD;
• Use AI tooling effectively while maintaining ownership of correctness and technical design;
• Implement effective metrics, monitoring, and observability processes;
• Build reliable and scalable data solutions supporting business-critical applications;
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the engineering team.

• 3+ Years of commercial experience writing production code as a Data Engineer or Backend Engineer using Python;
• Experience shipping tested and reviewed code and taking ownership of technical quality;
• Strong debugging skills and ability to reason about edge cases and complex problems;
• Moderate to proficient experience with data processing libraries and concepts;
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of database concepts;
• Understanding of database administration principles;
• Experience with DataOps methodologies, tools, and processes;
• Comfortable working in collaborative, cross-functional engineering teams;
• Nice to have: Snowflake, DBT, AI technologies including LLMs, skills and agents, RESTful APIs or event-driven applications, data warehouse development or database administration, general knowledge of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance.
