ZYNE is an independent scale-up backed by VERBUND and TTTech that builds an energy management platform connecting and controlling distributed energy assets, PV, industrial batteries, and EV charging across customer sites in Austria and Germany.

• Own end-to-end data platform design, from MQTT/event ingestion through lakehouse storage to the APIs consuming teams build on;
• Make foundational decisions covering streaming vs. batch separation, hot serving path, auditable event and decision logging, and cost-driven re-platforming of core workloads;
• Establish data contracts and governance using versioned schemas that let producing and consuming teams work independently;
• Run team planning and coaching;
• Perform hands-on design, code review, and shipping alongside the team.

• Designed and operated production data platforms on a modern lakehouse or warehouse stack;
• Expert in SQL and strong in Python with the ability to out-review the team on a Spark job;
• Made the streaming-vs-batch call in production and can argue it in both directions;
• Design for resilience and auditability including failure isolation, quality gates, and immutable logs;
• Grown engineers and set direction without micromanaging;
• Fluent English as the working language across all locations;
• Nice to have: Azure data stack, time-series workloads, IoT or energy domain, data contract tooling, applied ML exposure, experience working with AI coding agents.
