• Conduct regular 1:1 meetings and create and track Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
• Build and evolve the Backend Competency Matrix, identify skill gaps, and drive development initiatives
• Participate in performance reviews, promotion, and calibration processes
• Work closely with Product Owners and Tech Leads to understand engineers’ current capabilities and development areas
• Own and continuously improve Backend Engineering IT maturity, identify gaps, and drive improvement initiatives
• Develop backend engineering standards, best practices, and reusable engineering approaches
• Establish engineering practices, tools, and approaches that reduce development friction and accelerate team delivery
• Identify and help eliminate delivery bottlenecks and systemic engineering issues across multiple teams
• Contribute to complex system design and cross-team technical discussions
• Explore new technologies, lead Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives, and scale successful solutions
• Explore and introduce AI use cases across the SDLC to improve engineering productivity and quality
• Develop the Backend Engineering Community through meetups, technical talks, and knowledge-sharing sessions
• Contribute to the technical interview framework and backend engineering hiring process

• Strong hands-on background in Backend Engineering
• Strong knowledge of system design and distributed systems
• Good understanding of modern backend architectures and engineering practices
• Ability to identify systemic solutions to complex technical and cross-team challenges
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Azerbaijani language skills (B1)
• English language skills (B1)
• At least 1 year of experience as a Tech Lead, Chapter Lead, Engineering Manager, or in a similar engineering leadership role
