Taxes for Expats (TFX) provides U.S. tax preparation services for Americans living abroad. The company serves thousands of clients across 190+ countries and utilizes a mature software platform to manage marketing, sales, and operations. The team integrates advanced AI tooling into daily workflows to drive efficiency and product development.

• Ship product features end-to-end on Rails and Vue, from data model to UI, at a weekly release cadence;
• Use AI as a primary way of writing code by decomposing tasks, reviewing AI-generated diffs, and parallelizing sessions;
• Raise the team's bar through code reviews, agent design patterns, and internal documentation;
• Modernize legacy areas of the codebase by refactoring outdated patterns, retiring dead code, and contributing to Rails version upgrades;
• Extend internal AI tooling by contributing to the team's library of agents, MCP integrations, and custom workflows.

• 5+ Years of commercial fullstack experience;
• 2+ Years of production Ruby on Rails experience;
• Confidence in Vue 3, including Composition API and single-file components;
• AI integrated into daily workflow using tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Aider, or Copilot;
• Hands-on experience building LLM agents, including tool use, function calling, multi-step workflows, and output validation;
• Experience code-reviewing AI-generated pull requests in a team setting;
• Proven shipping mindset with the ability to demonstrate impact of past work;
• High agency and ability to manage multiple threads and surface blockers early;
• Right to work in country of residence;
• Nice to have: TypeScript experience in a Vue 3 codebase, domain experience in fintech, accounting, or tax, MCP servers, custom Claude/Cursor skills, open-source agentic projects, experience modernizing legacy Rails codebases, observability experience with Sentry or AppSignal.
