Synthesia develops an AI video platform for business and products that enhance visual communication and enterprise skill development. The company serves over 50,000 customers, including more than 90% of the Fortune 500, using proprietary generative AI technology.

• Build, scale and evolve the design system, including the component library, design tokens and documentation;
• Extend the design system for AI-assisted development using Storybook and machine-readable interfaces such as MCP;
• Design component APIs that resist misuse;
• Write high-quality, performant frontend code with React and TypeScript;
• Partner with design, product and engineering to define components and take them into production;
• Make components accessible by default according to WCAG 2.2 AA;
• Own the developer experience of the design system, including documentation, guidelines, Storybook, component APIs, versioning and migration paths;
• Implement and maintain theming, white labelling and localization/RTL support;
• Improve the system based on adoption metrics, contributor feedback and new platform capabilities;
• Shape the technical direction of the design system over the next 6–12 months and champion adoption across teams.

• At least five years of experience as a software engineer, including three years at senior level;
• Experience building frontend platforms with real ownership of a design system or shared component library used across multiple products;
• Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript/TypeScript;
• Strong React skills and familiarity with modern build tooling;
• Strong command of component API design, versioning and developer experience for shared libraries;
• Experience or strong interest in making component libraries consumable by AI;
• Understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility and web performance;
• Ability to build and verify components against WCAG 2.2 AA / EN 301 549 using a keyboard and screen reader;
• Strong sense of craft and attention to detail;
• Ability to balance design intent with engineering constraints;
• Strong communication and collaboration skills;
• Nice to have: Strong design sensibility, experience implementing multi-brand theming in production, experience with localization and internationalization including RTL.

• The salary starts at EUR/GBP/CHF 120,000 base.
