Data Engineer

Adsquare provides location intelligence solutions for programmatic advertisers.

• Own the full data pipeline lifecycle from raw data ingestion to transformation and external delivery;
• Design and build robust data architectures to process and transfer terabytes of data;
• Optimize data pipelines for cost and performance by analyzing query plans and scaling compute resources;
• Implement CI/CD workflows, infrastructure-as-code, and test-driven development to ensure code reliability;
• Create and maintain live monitoring dashboards to ensure data solution health;
• Collaborate with backend engineering teams and mentor junior team members through code reviews and best practices.

• 3-6+ Years of experience in Data Engineering or Backend Development with a heavy data focus;
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL with an understanding of functional and object-oriented programming;
• Deep experience with Apache Spark/PySpark and handling TB-scale datasets;
• Expertise in OLAP and OLTP systems, relational and NoSQL databases, and scalable data warehouses like Redshift, Snowflake, or StarRocks;
• Experience architecting solutions within the AWS ecosystem including S3, Athena, Glue, EMR, and Lambda;
• Production experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and orchestration tools like Airflow or dbt;
• Proficiency in using AI tools to improve code quality and productivity;
• Nice to have: Experience with compiled languages like Java, Scala, Go, Kotlin, C++, or Cython, knowledge of GIS and geospatial datasets, expertise in Parquet, Avro, or Iceberg formats, familiarity with Kafka and Flink, and experience with backend architectural patterns.
