Data Engineer

The company operates a UK-based delivery service that manages the distribution of newspapers, parcels, and essential goods for major retail clients. It leverages two decades of operational experience to scale logistics and is currently investing in modern data infrastructure to optimize route pricing, demand forecasting, and operational efficiency.

• Build the data platform end to end, including ingestion, warehousing, transformation, and serving;
• Extract data from operational systems and legacy sources to create clean, trustworthy models;
• Collaborate with operations leaders to interpret data meanings and define metrics;
• Establish the data warehouse as the primary source of truth for pricing, route planning, and reporting;
• Partner with the CEO and CTO to identify key business questions and develop data solutions;
• Define standards for data quality, lineage, and observability;
• Make architectural decisions that ensure long-term scalability;
• Grow and lead a data team as the function expands.

• 5+ Years of data engineering experience with a track record of building and owning production data platforms;
• Proficiency with the modern data stack including Airbyte, Snowflake, dbt, and AWS;
• Experience working with operational databases such as RDS, MySQL, and Postgres;
• Strong Python skills for pipelines, transformations, and tooling;
• Ability to translate complex operational logic from legacy systems into accurate data models;
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration;
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Cyprus.

• €55,000 – €80,000 + Bonus per year;
• Relocation support is available.
