Senior Data Engineer für Steuer-Apps

Zasta is a German tax app that enables taxpayers to submit professional tax returns with support from certified tax advisors. Its platform automates data collection from the tax office, calculates potential refunds, and serves more than 2 million users.

• Develop stable, scalable analytics pipelines using Databricks standards, including Delta, Medallion architecture, orchestration, monitoring, and data quality;
• Prepare reliable data for analytics, BI, and operational decision-making;
• Build reusable data models and a clean semantic layer;
• Define clear, consistent metrics and KPIs for organization-wide use;
• Establish standards and governance structures in the Databricks environment;
• Ensure that the BI stack can scale sustainably;
• Identify unnecessary complexity and technical debt;
• Build pragmatic, maintainable structures;
• Make architecture and tooling decisions and establish clear guardrails;
• Work closely with Marketing, Product, Operations, and Analytics;
• Translate stakeholder requirements into scalable analytics solutions;
• Enable teams to work with data independently and reliably;
• Work directly with the Head of Analytics to make decision-making more data-driven and contribute to measurable growth and profitability.

• Several years of experience with Databricks, especially SQL, analytics, and warehousing;
• Experience building stable analytics pipelines with orchestration, monitoring, and data quality;
• Strong skills in data modeling and KPI and metric design;
• Experience building scalable analytics or BI structures;
• Ability to combine standards, governance, and pragmatism with a clear connection to business goals;
• German at C1 level is required;
• Nice to have: Experience with Metabase, several years of experience in B2C, app, or marketing environments.

• A work permit for Germany is required;
• German at C2 level is listed in the language requirements.
