Data Engineer for telecom connectivity

1GLOBAL is a global mobile communications provider delivering connectivity solutions to enterprises and consumers. It operates regulated telecommunications and mobile virtual network services across multiple countries, supported by a global mobile core network, eSIM technology, and telecom licenses.

• Develop and implement data models across raw and curated layers;
• Create and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines ingesting data from billing, CRM, network, product, and support systems into an S3-based data lake;
• Consume Kafka topics and build reliable logic for late, duplicate, and out-of-order events;
• Own dbt data transformations, including tests and documentation;
• Orchestrate and monitor Airflow pipelines, including retries, alerting, backfills, and SLAs;
• Write efficient SQL for transformation logic and ad-hoc investigations;
• Contribute to data quality checks covering completeness, freshness, and source reconciliation;
• Flag anomalies before they reach reporting;
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth development processes and shared understanding;
• Take ownership of work quality and end-to-end outcomes;
• Create and maintain accurate technical documentation;
• Contribute to team discussions and continuous improvement.

• 3–5 Years of hands-on data engineering experience;
• Strong SQL skills, including window functions, CTEs, and query optimization;
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines with AWS S3, Glue, and Athena, or a closely comparable lake/warehouse stack;
• Practical understanding of data modelling, including raw-to-conformed layers and dimensional modelling basics;
• Experience consuming Kafka or another streaming/message system as a data source;
• Advanced Python proficiency for ETL development, data manipulation, and system automation;
• Strong communication skills;
• Nice to have: Airflow, dbt, Apache Iceberg or other open table formats, experience in telecom or another high-volume regulated data environment such as finance or healthcare.
