Data business analyst in investment banking

We are seeking an experienced Data Business Analyst to join a high-profile Investment Banking transformation programme. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving data-focused initiatives across Global Markets, working with business and technology stakeholders to improve data quality, governance, and reporting capabilities.

• Analyse and investigate complex data requirements across Global Markets functions.
• Identify critical data elements and assess downstream impacts on business processes and reporting.
• Perform data mapping, lineage analysis, and data quality assessments.
• Support the design and implementation of data governance frameworks and operating models.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams to define and deliver data-related solutions.
• Reconcile and interpret large datasets to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
• Drive discussions with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making across programmes.
• Contribute to business change initiatives and strategic data transformation projects.

• Proven Business Analysis experience within Investment Banking Financial Services.
• Strong understanding of Global Markets front-to-back processes.
• Experience working on data-focused transformation or change programmes.
• Knowledge of data governance, reference data, and enterprise data domains.
• Ability to identify and resolve data quality issues.
• Strong data analysis and investigation capabilities.
• Understanding of data design and data modelling concepts.
• Experience with data mapping and lineage analysis.
• Strong SQL querying skills.
• Ability to analyse and reconcile large datasets.
• Ability to engage effectively with senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Experience working across multiple teams and functions.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Self-driven with the ability to lead initiatives independently.
