Business analyst in life sciences and healthcare

Deloitte's Life-Sciences and Healthcare (LSHC) team works on the forefront of digital innovation and technology change within the industry. Our clients engage us to collaborate on many interesting and complex problems ranging from transforming legacy technology, through to building brand new digital banks and propositions.

• Leading and mentoring a team of business analysts, providing guidance, and ensuring the quality and consistency of their work.
• Defining the business analysis strategy and approach for complex, multi-workstream transformation programs.
• Working closely with Life Sciences and Healthcare clients, listening to their business requirements, key challenges and identifying the critical success factors for their organisation.
• Leading and conducting discovery sessions to understand customer pain points and technology requirements.
• Undertaking business process analysis of client workflows to produce clear As-Is and To-Be models to help them understand how their business works, and where bottlenecks and inefficiencies may exist.
• Translating business needs into clear requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Accountable for ensuring a shared understanding of requirements across development and testing teams, acting as the primary point of contact to ensure the solution is built right the first time.
• Support the development of propositions, proposals, and RFP responses in the Life Sciences and Healthcare sector
• Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering their professional development in the Life Sciences and Healthcare sector.
• Stay abreast of evolving technology landscapes and industry best practices in Life Sciences and Healthcare sector.

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific, engineering, or technology discipline (e.g., Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering) or equivalent.
• Proven experience in leading and managing projects or significant workstreams, demonstrating strong project management skills (e.g., planning, execution, risk management, stakeholder communication).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
• Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences, technical and scientific.
• Experience working as a Business Analyst in Biotech/Pharma Life Sciences. The individual must have strong business and functional knowledge of the domain.
• Experience in supporting Research and Development teams in Biotech/Pharma Life Sciences. with a strong understanding of core domain applications such as LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System), ELN (Electronic Laboratory Network) and CTMS (Clinical Trial Management System).
• Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and resolve roadblocks to delivery, engaging with leadership and escalating where necessary to ensure project momentum.
• The role requires the individual to have demonstrable experience in delivering large Life Science projects, closely collaborating with scientists, application developers, testers and project managers.
