• Lead complex business analysis activities and deliver actionable recommendations and technology solutions aligned with strategic business objectives and customer needs;
• Frame complex business challenges, define desired business outcomes, and establish clear change visions;
• Identify, analyse, and communicate risks, dependencies, costs, benefits, and trade-offs;
• Facilitate discovery, ideation, assessment, requirements gathering, and solution design activities;
• Drive technology rationalisation and modernisation opportunities, including legacy system retirement and application portfolio optimisation;
• Ensure initiatives progress through their full lifecycle with appropriate governance, risk management, and strategic alignment;
• Build relationships across business, technology, architecture, security, procurement, and operational teams;
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops and decision-making forums;
• Communicate complex technical and business concepts to audiences at all levels, including senior leadership;
• Partner with technical subject matter experts to define sustainable solution options;
• Apply systems thinking to evaluate relationships and dependencies across teams, processes, products, platforms, and services;
• Ensure functional and non-functional requirements are identified throughout discovery, solution design, vendor evaluation, and implementation planning;

• Produce business requirements, analysis artefacts, process maps, and stakeholder documentation;
• Establish mechanisms for tracking demand, risks, dependencies, and portfolio metrics;
• Act as a trusted advisor by articulating trade-offs between cost, risk, complexity, and business value;
• Support prioritisation decisions through analysis of investment opportunities, dependencies, resource constraints, and expected benefits;
• Establish visibility of risks, issues, and delivery dependencies;
• Influence and shape portfolio roadmaps through data-driven recommendations and strategic analysis;
• Contribute to successful project outcomes, benefits realisation, and organisational goals;
• Support portfolio investment optimisation through improved prioritisation, governance, and resource allocation;
• Lead complex cross-functional analyses that drive business transformation, operational improvements, or technology modernisation;
• Champion innovative solutions and emerging technologies aligned with Springer Nature Digital's strategic direction;
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve efficiency, customer experience, service quality, or business outcomes;
• Act as a senior practitioner and mentor;
• Strengthen collaboration between business and technology teams;
• Provide leadership in managing ambiguity, resolving competing priorities, and escalating strategic risks.

• Over seven years of experience working at programme or portfolio level;
• Experience supporting complex, multi-portfolio programmes from start to finish;
• Ability to work with high-performing, psychologically safe teams;
• Ability to align roadmaps, budgets, and resources with strategic priorities;
• Strategic vision combined with operational discipline;
• Ability to collaborate with senior executives, delivery teams, solutions architecture, and delivery managers;
• Effective communication and a collaborative approach focused on unblocking teams and aligning people towards shared goals;
• In-depth knowledge and experience of agile, Lean, and hybrid delivery methodologies;
• Ability to select and adapt business analysis techniques, facilitation approaches, methods, and delivery tooling based on context, complexity, and stakeholder needs;
• Drive to create a culture of continuous improvement and measurable impact;
• Nice to have: Experience with business transformation, operational improvement, technology modernisation, portfolio management, vendor evaluation, and emerging technologies.

• The role can be based in London, Lisbon, Berlin, Dordrecht, or Pune;
• Some travel is required as appropriate.
