Business Analyst

Hiscox is an insurance company whose European Change Team delivers strategic, operational, digital, and regulatory change initiatives across Europe.

• Lead end-to-end business analysis activities across strategic, digital, operational, and regulatory initiatives and value streams;
• Partner with stakeholders to understand business objectives, drivers, constraints, and success criteria;
• Analyse current-state processes, systems, data, and customer journeys to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities;
• Translate business needs into user stories, epics, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications for delivery teams;
• Ensure requirements and solutions comply with internal governance, risk, and regulatory obligations;
• Prioritise requirements with business owners, product owners, and delivery leads;
• Facilitate alignment between business, technology, operations, data, and external partners;
• Evaluate solution options and contribute to the selection of technology, vendors, or delivery approaches;
• Produce process maps, business cases, and impact assessments;
• Build and maintain business cases, benefits hypotheses, and value tracking mechanisms;
• Validate delivered solutions against requirements and business expectations;
• Support testing by helping define test scenarios, reviewing test cases, and validating outcomes;
• Assess change impacts on people, processes, systems, and controls and support change readiness activities;
• Communicate complex topics clearly to technical and non-technical audiences;
• Support agile, hybrid, or waterfall delivery models as required;
• Drive continuous improvement of business analysis practices, tools, and standards.

• Master’s degree, ideally in Management, Economics, Engineering, or a similar field;
• Solid background in technology or business consulting, ideally in the insurance business;
• Ability to understand business needs and translate them into functional and non-functional requirements and process maps;
• Ability to develop business cases and present arguments for decision making;
• Experience with agile or Scrum methodology;
• Fluent written and spoken English;
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to understand, challenge, and agree business needs and requirements;
• Ability to influence geographically distributed stakeholders;
• Strong communication skills and ability to build consensus;
• Ability to work under pressure and achieve results within scheduled timeframes;
• Ability to work in a fast-moving environment, multitask, reprioritize, and switch focus efficiently;
• Strong analytical skills;
• Ability to identify and solve blockers with minimal guidance and build cross-organizational partnerships;
• Nice to have: Fluency in German, French, Spanish, Dutch, or Flemish, Lean Black Belt Certification, experience in the Financial Services sector.
