As our Business Development Manager, you will have a unique entrepreneurial mission focused on building a new growth engine for the business.

This role brings together business development, entrepreneurship and operational leadership. You’ll initially use your network and industry expertise to drive revenue through staff leasing and workforce solutions in Switzerland, while simultaneously designing, launching and scaling a new events business. In turn, this business will create a long-term pipeline of temporary staffing demand, with a particular focus on the HORECA sector.

• Use your established network and industry expertise to unlock new opportunities, winning new staff leasing business and generating immediate commercial impact in the Swiss market.
• Shape and execute a winning commercial strategy that expands Safeguard Global’s client portfolio and strengthens our presence across Switzerland.
• Spot opportunities before others do, identifying workforce demand across hospitality, events, catering and other high-potential sectors.
• Own the client journey from opportunity to partnership, leading compelling meetings, presentations, proposals and commercial negotiations.
• Turn opportunities into successful workforce solutions, partnering closely with recruitment teams to ensure we deliver against our clients’ evolving staffing needs.
• Build and grow strategic accounts, creating sustainable revenue streams and contributing directly to ambitious growth targets.
• Bring a brand-new events business to life, taking ownership of its development from initial concept and strategy through to launch and growth.
• Define what success looks like, shaping the business model, market positioning, service offering and go-to-market strategy.
• Identify and capture opportunities across the Swiss events market, including corporate events, trade shows, hospitality, private events, festivals and sporting events.
• Create a sustainable model for growth, generating ongoing temporary staffing demand that complements and strengthens Safeguard Global’s wider workforce solutions business.
• Work hand-in-hand with our HORECA recruitment team, anticipating workforce requirements and ensuring the right staffing support is aligned with upcoming event activity.
• Act as a trusted commercial advisor, understanding client challenges and translating them into effective workforce and event staffing solutions.
• Connect the dots between our events and staffing businesses, identifying opportunities where both can work together to create greater commercial value.
• Set the standard for an exceptional client experience, ensuring strong delivery, lasting relationships and high levels of satisfaction across every interaction.

• Strong experience within the events industry, bringing deep market knowledge, industry insight and a clear understanding of what it takes to build and grow a successful events business.
• A proven commercial track record, with experience winning new business, opening doors and turning opportunities into long-term client relationships.
• Experience building, growing or scaling event businesses or services, with the confidence to take an idea from concept through to commercial success.
• Strong knowledge of the Swiss events, hospitality and HORECA landscape, including the opportunities, challenges and key players shaping the market.
• A natural entrepreneurial mindset, with the ambition, creativity and drive to build something new rather than simply manage what already exists.
• A strategic thinker who knows how to execute, turning commercial ideas into clear plans, tangible action and measurable business results.
• A consultative approach to business development, with the ability to understand client challenges, identify opportunities and create solutions that deliver real value.
• Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage, influence and build credibility with stakeholders at every level.
• A strong understanding of how successful events come together, from the commercial opportunity through to operational and workforce requirements.
• Fluent French and English languages are essential, with German language skills giving you an additional advantage in the Swiss market.
