QA manager for video games (manual)

Kalypso Media Group is an independent publisher and developer of interactive entertainment software. Its development studios and international partners create computer and video games for modern premium platforms, including the Tropico series, Commandos, and Railway Empire.

• Lead the QA team and guide its members in building and executing appropriate test cases
• Conduct QA stand-ups, 1:1 meetings, and regular employee appraisals
• Define QA test cases by coordinating with departments and stakeholders to gather team and project quality needs
• Support testing phases through hands-on testing
• Work independently, prioritizing actions that achieve quality and a bug-free game
• Continuously improve QA team members’ skills and abilities
• Create and distribute builds for internal and external purposes
• Align with external QA studios on best practices, workflows, and ticket requirements

• Experience with video game testing processes and test cycles
• Quality assurance experience on at least 3 shipped game titles
• Good understanding of certification processes for consoles and stores
• Ability to work with UE5 in an environment using Perforce and Horde
• Good technical understanding of development pipelines and target platforms
• Proficiency in reading and analyzing crash logs
• Experience writing test cases and test plans
• Experience with automated testing
• Good understanding of the Scrum framework and agile work
• Knowledge of release management, including build creation, distribution, testing, and release on target platforms
• Highly structured, thorough, and organized
