QA Engineer (auto)

Xe is a cross-border payments platform that helps SMEs and consumers in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand collect, convert, hold, and send money across markets. The company provides currency information and international money transfer services, backed by Euronet Worldwide.

• Design and own integration test harnesses and contract tests for money-moving flows and partner APIs;
• Lead the design of test automation that gates code into production across onboarding, KYC, KYB, payment initiation, FX, and settlement flows;
• Determine the balance of manual and automated testing, write test cases, and lead automation using Playwright or equivalent frameworks;
• Own CI/CD quality strategy for the domain, including release-blocking signals, flaky-test triage, and test infrastructure health;
• Lead production incident investigations and translate findings into automated tests and process improvements;
• Lead design reviews of test architecture, set quality direction, and mentor mid-level QA engineers;
• Utilize agentic coding and AI test tools daily to build the test estate for new capabilities.

• 6 To 10+ years of experience building production test automation, end-to-end;
• Strong test automation skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or C#, including framework and system design;
• Proficiency in SQL and relational database fundamentals;
• Experience with API testing and UI automation using tools like Playwright or Cypress;
• Knowledge of functional and non-functional testing principles, including performance, load, or resilience testing;
• Production experience with AWS and CI/CD pipeline ownership, including building release gates;
• Experience in payments, FX, or regulated industries;
• Proven track record of QA technical leadership, including setting test architecture and leading code reviews;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Nice to have: Experience with contract testing for partner integrations, testing Windows client applications, mobile app test automation, leading modernization of test estates or quality programs.
