Muse Group creates apps for playing, recording, and composing music, as well as learning tools, music catalogs, and free open-source software. Hal Leonard, part of Muse Group since 2023, publishes sheet music and music education resources and distributes instruments, gear, and software worldwide.

• Shape a scalable quality engineering strategy across web, mobile, and desktop products
• Drive test automation and make quality a measurable engineering discipline
• Influence engineering decisions across teams
• Build processes and systems that enable quality to scale beyond the QA team
• Set direction, guide implementation, and make informed trade-offs
• Improve efficiency by automating repetitive processes and delivering a better user experience
• Grow and mentor engineers and strengthen their automation skills
• Defend quality decisions using data and clearly articulate trade-offs, including when to block a release and when risk is acceptable

• Demonstrate measurable impact implementing automated testing that reliably gates releases, such as improved coverage, fewer escaped defects, faster release cycles, or reduced flaky-test rates
• Have production experience across web, mobile, and desktop, with hands-on expertise in at least two platforms and architecture- or review-level experience in the third
• Have experience with Playwright or an equivalent web testing tool at scale, including maintainable test architecture, parallel execution, and addressing flaky tests
• Have experience with Maestro, Detox, Appium, or an equivalent mobile testing tool, supporting release trains, staged rollouts, and reliable device/emulator CI
• Have experience with native desktop applications on Windows, macOS, or Linux
• Establish quality baselines, track meaningful trends, and validate automated test effectiveness through mutation testing or equivalent practices
• Operate large automated test suites as CI/CD gates, balancing required checks, branch protection, test reliability, and feedback speed
• Have hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding and test generation tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar
• Understand where AI-generated tests provide meaningful protection and where they increase coverage without improving confidence
• Demonstrate the ability to mentor engineers and develop their automation skills without relying on formal line-management authority
• English at Upper-Intermediate level or higher
