Performance Marketing Manager

The performance marketing team at idealo manages all paid and directly measurable marketing campaigns as one of the driving forces behind current growth, utilizing data-driven methods to stay ahead of market trends. Within the SEM team, professionals gain deep insights into SEA automation at one of Europe's top e-commerce players while taking on hands-on technical responsibility for Google Shopping and CSS activities, driving innovation, and increasing paid search channel efficiency using data and technology.

• Take on hands-on technical responsibility for the planning, development, and further development of Google Shopping and CSS campaigns including setup, structure, scaling, and performance;
• Manage budgets and KPIs, identify growth drivers, and derive concrete measures to increase performance and efficiency;
• Be responsible for continuous performance monitoring and the operational implementation of optimizations through testing, iterations, and rollouts;
• Develop optimization approaches and ensure continuous tracking, ongoing analysis, and meaningful reporting;
• Drive topics related to Google Merchant Center and feed quality including data quality, attributes, rules, diagnostics, and policies while working closely with relevant interfaces;
• Test hypotheses through structured tests, substantiate them with data, and establish learnings as best practices within the team;
• Act as the technical contact person for Shopping/CSS, advise internal stakeholders, and implement market/platform trends.

• Several years of experience in performance marketing with a focus on Google Shopping covering end-to-end ownership and hands-on implementation;
• Excellent CSS expertise and a deep understanding of the mechanics and levers in the shopping ecosystem;
• High level of confidence in Google Merchant Center and all feed and data topics including data quality, attributes, rules, diagnostics, and policies;
• Strong analytical skills featuring clear KPI logic, structured testing, prioritization, and implementation;
• High technical affinity and experience with analysis, tracking, and ideally feed management tools;
• Ownership mentality to take responsibility and drive issues forward independently, pragmatically, and with a strong focus on implementation;
• Very good written and spoken German and English;
• Nice to have: agency experience, PMAX/shopping automation, incrementality experiments, SQL/BigQuery, and dashboarding such as Looker, PowerBI, Tableau.
