We are now looking for a Project Manager, MRO AI to join Group MRO Sourcing team. This position is located in Tampere, Helsinki, Finland, or Wroclaw, Poland. Other UPM locations can be considered.

Ready to turn your sourcing expertise into the next chapter of maintenance, repair and operations (MRO)? Join UPM’s Group MRO team and lead the deployment, adoption and scaling of AI-driven MRO solutions across UPM. This is a business-facing role for a sourcing professional who knows how to turn opportunities into practical action and measurable results.

You will connect business stakeholders, sites, sourcing teams, IT and AI solution providers to improve spare parts master data quality, sourcing effectiveness, inventory optimization, supplier collaboration and maintenance performance. AI is your enabler, not your end goal: success means tangible savings, more efficient operations and lasting business value.

An opportunity to shape how UPM uses AI in MRO Sourcing and make your sourcing experience count beyond individual projects. You will work across functions and sites, bringing together business and technology expertise to deliver improvements with a clear operational purpose.

The role brings innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement together. By improving spare parts visibility and use, inventory decisions and supplier collaboration, you can help teams use resources more efficiently and support more sustainable ways of working.

• Lead the AI in MRO program’s operational delivery, from planning and cross-functional coordination to milestones, risks, follow-up and clear progress updates
• Lead or support agreed sourcing projects, translating AI insights into category strategies, procurement actions and supplier decisions
• Define and track measurable savings, efficiency gains and business value across spare parts data, sourcing, inventory and maintenance performance
• Bridge business teams, sites, IT, suppliers and external AI partners, keeping solutions grounded in end-user needs and day-to-day operations
• Design practical, scalable AI-supported sourcing processes that strengthen supplier collaboration and align with operational priorities
• Work closely with the Change Manager to build adoption, embed new ways of working and support the transition to AI-supported decision-making
• Use your sourcing credibility and stakeholder network to remove barriers, escalate issues early and drive continuous improvement as solutions scale

• You hold a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred
• You are proficient in English and have excellent communication skills, enabling you to engage effectively with diverse stakeholder groups across mills and geographies
• You bring substantial experience in sourcing, procurement, MRO, supply chain and/or maintenance excellence or a closely related business area
• You understand or have willingness to learn Sourcing processes, spare parts, maintenance operations and the supplier relationships that keep sites running
• You combine category management and sourcing expertise with strong business acumen and a record of delivering savings, efficiency or operational improvements
• You have led or have ambition to learn cross-functional projects or transformation initiatives, turning priorities into clear plans and following through on delivery
• You build trust across business, sites, IT and external partners, and can influence stakeholders with different perspectives and priorities
• You lead change with a practical, collaborative approach, helping people adopt new processes and improve everyday decisions
• You are curious about AI and confident translating data-driven insights into business action; this role calls for sourcing leadership, not data science expertise
