1st Formations is a UK provider of company formation and compliance services. It develops an integrated technology platform covering formation, compliance, accounting, payroll, and ongoing business support for entrepreneurs.

• Own product strategy and roadmap for key platform areas, including integrations with third-party services such as Companies House, accounting and payroll systems, and payment providers;
• Define and prioritise the API and integration roadmap with engineering, contributing to technical design and architecture decisions;
• Translate business and user requirements into clear technical specifications;
• Evaluate build-versus-buy decisions and assess third-party integration partners with engineering;
• Partner with design to ensure user-facing experiences are supported by the underlying technical architecture;
• Partner with compliance to ensure new capabilities meet regulatory requirements;
• Define and track product metrics, using data to inform prioritisation and validate outcomes;
• Communicate roadmap, trade-offs, and technical constraints to senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams;
• Run discovery with users and internal stakeholders to validate problems before committing engineering resources;
• Mentor and support the development of other product managers, where applicable.

• 8+ Years of product management experience with increasing scope and ownership;
• Strong technical background with hands-on experience working with APIs, integrations, and system architecture;
• Experience owning a product area with meaningful technical complexity, such as integrations, platform, or infrastructure-adjacent products;
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills, including translating between technical and non-technical stakeholders;
• Experience in a startup or scaleup environment and comfort with changing requirements and a fast pace;
• Strong analytical mindset, including metrics, funnel analysis, and data-informed prioritisation;
• Experience mentoring or providing product leadership to others;
• Nice to have: familiarity with compliance or regulatory constraints in product decisions.
