Product manager energy markets & flexibility

• Design and expansion of energy market solutions: Develop and operationally establish scalable models for balancing group management (BKM), direct marketing and flexibility optimization for our C&I and Enterprise customers with multi-site portfolios
• Technology and market interface: Work closely with our software and product team to further develop our virtual power plant (Heartbeat AI Enterprise) – define functional requirements for aggregation, dynamic flexibility bands and schedule setpoints
• Partner and trading management: Select, connect and continuously manage external BKM and trading partners (e.g. algorithmic intraday trading companies, aggregators, transmission system operators)
• Multi-use operating models: Develop prioritization and deployment logic for commercial battery storage systems (e.g. coordinating UPS/backup priority, grid-charge-optimized peak shaving and spot market arbitrage)
• Risk and schedule management: Monitor forecast accuracy, balancing energy costs (reBAP) and schedule notifications to minimize financial risks in the balancing group
• Regulatory framework: Ensure and implement relevant energy industry requirements (e.g. mixed storage guidelines / MiSpeL, MaBiS, Redispatch 2.0) in customer contracts and system processes
• Sales support: Provide subject-matter support for Enterprise customer pitches, create profitability models and develop revenue-sharing concepts (profit split)

• Completed degree in energy economics, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, economics or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in balancing group management (BKM), at a direct marketer, flexibility aggregator (VPP) or in short-term electricity trading (EPEX SPOT Day-Ahead / Intraday)
• In-depth understanding of the deployment and monetization of large-scale and commercial battery storage systems (BESS) and PV systems in the C&I segment
• Solid knowledge of the German regulatory framework (StromNEV, EnWG, MaBiS, MiSpeL) and market communication processes
• Strong affinity for software, IoT architectures and API-based data flows between edge gateways, VPP platforms and trading systems
• Strong analytical thinking, entrepreneurial approach and structured problem-solving skills
• A convincing presence, strong communication skills when engaging with Enterprise customers on an equal footing, and enjoyment of interdisciplinary teamwork
• Fluent German and English, spoken and written
