financial analyst for NHS clinical services

Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust operates five hospitals and community services in Lambeth and Southwark. It provides specialist heart and lung, cancer, and renal care, alongside local hospital and community services, teaching, research, and clinical innovation.

• Produce Management Accounts for Clinical Directorates;
• Support Finance Managers and Budget Holders;
• Produce budget reports from the ledger;
• Investigate variances from plan;
• Implement required changes to staff and expenditure budgets;
• Refer other budget changes to the relevant Financial Operations department;
• Conduct regular reviews with Budget Holders to gather intelligence;
• Provide information and analysis to Budget Holders;
• Support Budget Holders in interpreting reports;
• Support the development of robust end-of-year forecasts;
• Interrogate the various ledger subsystems;
• Develop and update costing and projection spreadsheets;
• Support the wider Financial Management team through the Month End process;
• Complete ad-hoc projects;
• Take an active interest in developing skills, experience, and career.

• Good working knowledge of ledger systems;
• Understanding of basic accounting principles;
• Advanced spreadsheet skills;
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills;
• Strong commitment to value and patient care;
• Nice to have: Experience in management of NHS services.
