site reliability engineer in big data platforms

The company provides payments technology and operates a global big data platform.

• Carry out site reliability duties for open-source big data platforms, including Hadoop, Spark, and HBase
• Develop software systems and automated solutions for operational tasks, and enable automations through a front-end UI
• Write efficient code based on requirements, then verify and deploy the resulting programs
• Troubleshoot, debug, upgrade, and tune existing programs to improve performance and efficiency
• Create reports and trend analysis on capacity metrics and usage patterns

• 5+ Years of experience as a Big Data (Hadoop) Site Reliability Engineer for mid and senior levels, or 2–3 years for the junior level
• Strong knowledge of Hadoop platforms and core Hadoop components
• Programming skills in Java or Python
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux system internals, networking, distributed systems, and the SDLC
• Ability to pick up new languages and technologies quickly
