platform engineer for edge POS systems

The client’s Platform Operations & Engineering Team modernizes store Point of Sale (POS) systems across edge locations.

• Execute infrastructure enhancements across edge locations using Oracle Linux, Docker, Kubernetes (K8s/K3s), Helm, Kustomize, and Ansible;
• Deploy and maintain containerized applications in distributed edge computing environments;
• Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices and ensure high availability of POS systems;
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD;
• Implement automated testing, security scanning, and deployment processes;
• Manage GitOps workflows and optimize deployment efficiency;
• Deploy and configure FluentBit, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana;
• Implement comprehensive logging, metrics collection, and distributed tracing;
• Create dashboards and alerts, and support incident response activities;
• Develop platform tools, scripts, and automation to support development teams;
• Work with the Systems Architect to translate designs into working solutions;
• Collaborate with development teams and participate in agile ceremonies.

• 3+ Years of hands-on experience with Linux administration, Docker, and Kubernetes;
• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and ArgoCD, and GitOps practices;
• Hands-on experience with FluentBit, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana;
• Proficiency with Ansible, Helm, Kustomize, and infrastructure as code;
• Strong Bash and Python scripting skills with automation experience;
• Understanding of edge computing and distributed infrastructure challenges;
• Experience with monitoring strategies for distributed systems;
• Knowledge of DevOps security best practices, secrets management, and secure configuration;
• Knowledge of networking, load balancing, and service mesh technologies;
• Understanding of high-availability and disaster recovery principles;
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and mentoring abilities within cross-functional agile teams;
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher;
• Nice to have: Oracle Linux experience, retail/POS environment experience.

• Remote work is available from Armenia and four other locations.
